Safe, Fun Model Flying

If you love flying, you should give model flying a try. Whether you're a commercial pilot, a retired member of the Air Force, or just someone who's always dreamt of flying — ARCS in San Antonio, Texas, welcomes all sorts of airplane enthusiasts. We have included our model flying rules to help ensure the safety of our pilots and their spectators.

Flying Regulations

A. All members and guest(s) are required to possess current AMA credentials before flying at the corporation flying site. Individuals operating on the HAM band must also possess a FCC license to fly at the corporation flying site.

B. All members and guests will be provided with a written copy of the flying site rules and regulations upon request. Anyone can view the rules and regulations on the club Website. Written copies will be provided on request. Guest sponsors (members) will ensure that the guest will follow the flying site rules posted at said site. Guest privileges will be extended for 2 days of flying (consecutive or nonconsecutive) at which time the guest will be asked to become a member of the corporation.

C. Individuals that have not paid club dues or obtained AMA membership renewal by December 31 of the year shall be placed on a no-fly list. The no-fly list will be posted at the corporate flying site. Individuals on the no-fly list will be removed from the list upon showing proof of AMA currency and club dues payment.

Committees

Committees will be formed from the membership as directed by the president as needed. Committees will be effective for the specific function, calendar year, or as otherwise specified.

Meetings

A. Regular corporation meetings will be held at a time and place designated by the board and published in the newsletter.

B. Special meetings may be called by the president or board of directors or by petition of 10% of the membership. A notice furnished to the membership 7 days prior to the meeting must precede a special meeting. The special meeting will be confined only to that business included in the 7-day notices.

C. During the meetings, "Robert's Rules of Order" will prevail in the event of disputes or other circumstances requiring more-formal parliamentary procedure.

Voting

A. All full dues-paying members of the corporation will be entitled to a vote on all matters requiring it. The president of the corporation will not normally vote unless there is a tie in the voting, at which time he will cast the deciding vote.

B. Proxy voting is permissible on items or motions contained in the newsletter that will require a vote at the next business meeting. The said vote must be received in writing by a member of the board of directors prior to the meeting.

Disbursement Of Corporation Funds

Funds up to $75 per month may be dispensed at the discretion of any corporate board member. Such expenditures shall be documented under usual treasurer's reporting procedures. No corporation funds greater than said amount shall be dispensed without a majority vote of the corporation members who are present at the monthly meeting at which time the financial outlay is discussed.

Amendment Of Bylaws

These bylaws may be amended by a 2/3-majority vote of members who are present at the regular business meeting or at any special meeting.

Impeachment Of Board Of Directors

Any director of this corporation may be removed from office by a 2/3-majority vote of the members who are present at the regular business meeting.
